Dress Code

All classes at Dance Expressions require dancers to adhere to a dress code. Proper attire in a dance class enables the teacher to give corrections regarding body alignment and ensures the safety of the dancer, promotes discipline, and proper etiquette.

Hair should always be pulled and secured off the neck. For shorter hair, we recommend using barrettes, bobby pins, and or clips to keep hair out of the face. Ponytails and braids may be acceptable for others. All jewelry including smart watches and or fitness trackers are prohibited and may not be worn during class, rehearsals, and performances. Proper shoes are important because they are designed specifically to support the technique and style of dance. Absolutely no street-shoes or socks may be worn during class as they both contribute to breaking down the non-slip surface of Marley flooring.
